Bela Silva was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1966.
She studied both in Porto and in the Schools of Fine Arts of Lisbon in Portugal; ArCo, Lisbon; Norwich Fine Arts in the UK; School of The Art Institute of Chicago, USA. He currently lives between Lisbon and Brussels, Belgium.
Ann Nathan Gallery in Chicago and Rhona Hoffman Gallery, Tile Museum Lisbon (Tile Museum), Museum Anastacio Goncalves in Lisbon, Ajuda Palace, and the Ricardo Espírito Santo Foundation, and also shows in China and Japan. Participated in group exhibitions of art tile in Brazil, Spain, France, he ran pottery workshops in Japan and Morocco, and was awarded residencies in Kohler, Wisconsin, USA, and Bordallo Pinheiro Factory, Caldas da Rainha, Portugal.
She created several pieces of public art, including tile panels to the metro station Alvalade in Lisbon panels to the gardens of the Cultural Center of Sakai, Japan, and panels for John of God School in the Azores.
