Portuguese painter born in 1926 in Lisbon, and died on 11 January 1999. He studied at the School of Decorative Arts Antonio Arroyo. began as a landscaper but evolved into more languages abstratizantes – not leaving, however, the bond to the concrete visual reality, as shown by its constant picture practice.
She held several exhibitions in Portugal and abroad. Is represented in several collections: the Palace of Justice in Lisbon, Modern Art Centre of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, National Museums, MUNICI-parents Chambers Training Centre Professional Pegões, the Regional Government, etc. Performed several fresh 12 Chapels, Alentejo and Ribatejo.
It was awarded in the 1st Hall of Last Things, in 1959. expressionist strokes, sometimes intensely dramatic, was seen as one of the greats of gestural painting between us. 3rd Prize of the exhibition “An American in Paris” – M.G.M. in 1952; National Award Amadeo de Souza Cardoso in 1959; 3rd Art Critics’ Union Award at the Biennial of Paris in 1959; 1st Prize of the II Salon of Modern Art of the Tourist Board of the Costa del Sol in 1964; 2nd BP’s Painting Competition Award in 1966; Prize Plastic Arts Magazines “Guys and Dolls” and “New People” in 1983 and 1984; MAC’Carreira prize in 1997 – Movement Contemporary Art.
He took part in the International Meetings of Art Caldas da Rainha and Vila Nova de Cerveira, organized by Alvarez Group. Carlos Aviles and Francisco Clock, worked as plastic director in various stage designs brought to the scene in the Experimental Theater of Cascais and Porto.
It was the magazine’s graphic art director and letters “upwind”. Performed panels, mosaic to railway station Amadora and Metropolitano de Lisboa.
